Section 01 · 10 Questions
Air Duct Cleaning
Process, frequency, what is actually cleaned, and why source-removal matters.
How often should I clean my air ducts in Utah? add
NADCA recommends every 3–5 years for typical homes. In Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front we recommend the 3-year end of that range because of winter inversion particulate plus summer wildfire smoke that gets sequestered in duct walls and recirculates as soon as the system runs.
How long does air duct cleaning take? add
A typical SLC single-family home with one HVAC system takes 2–4 hours. Two-system, two-furnace, or larger 4,000+ sq ft homes take 4–6 hours. We never rush — quality of cleaning is directly tied to time spent agitating each branch run.
What does a "real" air duct cleaning include? add
Source-removal cleaning of the full HVAC system: every supply register, every return register, the trunk lines, the plenum, the blower wheel, and the evaporator coil. If your provider is not opening the air handler and brushing out the blower, you are getting a register-vacuum, not a duct cleaning.
Do you remove and clean every register? add
Yes — every accessible supply and return register is removed, vacuumed, washed if grease or kitchen residue is present, and reinstalled. We replace any rusted or warped grilles on request.
What equipment do you use? add
Truck-mounted HEPA-filtered negative-pressure vacuum (5,000+ CFM) plus rotary brush systems and high-pressure air whip for agitation. We measure static pressure with a manometer before and after the job to prove the result.
Will it help with dust on my furniture? add
Yes — but only if the cleaning is real. Surface "register sweeps" do nothing for dust because the source (deposits inside trunk lines and the blower wheel) keeps re-supplying. Source removal addresses the cause.
Will air duct cleaning help my allergies? add
Removing accumulated pollen, dander, dust mite waste, and pet hair from the duct system reduces what cycles through the air every time the HVAC turns on. Combine with a UV-C lamp + MERV-11 or higher filtration for measurable allergy improvement.
Is the process messy? add
No. We seal off all register openings except the one being agitated, run negative pressure through the truck-mount, and lay protective floor coverings. Most customers stay home during the work.
Can you clean ducts in a finished basement? add
Yes. We open access panels in plenum sections behind drywall only with prior written consent, and we patch them when finished. In most homes the ducts are accessible from inside the air handler closet.
Do you offer a guarantee on duct cleaning? add
Yes — 100% satisfaction. If you find a missed register, an obvious leak we did not address, or a debris path we left behind, we return at no charge.

Dryer Vent Cleaning & Install
Fire prevention, signs your vent needs service, install + reroute work.
How often should I clean my dryer vent? add
Once a year minimum. Households with pets, large families running 5+ loads/week, or vent runs longer than 15 ft should clean every 6 months.
How dangerous is a clogged dryer vent? add
The U.S. Fire Administration links clogged dryer vents to roughly 2,900 home fires per year, mostly from lint accumulating on the heating element. It is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost preventive services we offer.
How can I tell my dryer vent is clogged? add
Five common signs: clothes take more than one cycle to dry, the dryer feels hot to the touch, you smell a burning lint odor, lint is visible at the exterior cap, or the laundry room is humid during cycles.
Do you do dryer vent installation, not just cleaning? add
Yes — fresh installs and reroutes. We use rigid 4" galvanized duct, never flex hose inside walls. Code-compliant slope, exterior cap with backdraft damper, and proper securing at every joint.
My dryer vent runs 30 ft — is that legal? add
IRC code limits dryer vent runs to 35 ft, minus 5 ft per 90° elbow. Many existing runs exceed effective limits because of bends. We measure and reroute on the shortest practical path.
Can you handle multi-family / condo dryer vents? add
Yes — we handle apartment complexes, townhouses, and shared dryer-vent risers. Coordination with HOAs and exterior penetrations on stucco, siding, and brick is routine for us.
Do you handle gas dryers differently? add
Same vent rules apply, but gas dryers also need adequate combustion air. We verify gas dryer venting is rated for the appliance and confirm combustion air supply during install.
What about dryer booster fans? add
In long runs that cannot be physically shortened, we install in-line dryer booster fans with lint-resistant blades to maintain code-compliant airflow.

UV Light & Air Purification
How UV-C works, what it kills, lamp life, safety.
How does an HVAC UV light work? add
A UV-C germicidal lamp mounted near the evaporator coil exposes air and the coil surface to 254 nm ultraviolet radiation. UV-C breaks down DNA in mold spores, bacteria, and most viruses, neutralizing them on contact.
Is UV light safe for my family? add
Yes — the lamp is sealed inside the HVAC system. UV-C never escapes into living spaces. Technicians wear UV-rated eye protection during installation.
How long does a UV-C bulb last? add
Quality UV-C bulbs maintain peak germicidal output for 9–14 months. We service annually and replace as needed — a depleted bulb still glows blue but has lost its kill rate.
Will UV light lower my energy bill? add
Possibly. Clean evaporator coils transfer heat better, so the AC achieves target temperature faster. Most owners report a 5–15% efficiency improvement after coil-mount UV plus coil cleaning.
UV light or ionization — which is better? add
Different jobs. UV-C kills what passes the lamp and what grows on the coil. Bipolar ionization (iWave, REME) works throughout the home and addresses VOCs. Best results combine both.
Section 04 · 4 Questions
HVAC Tune-Up
Annual maintenance, what is checked, when to schedule.
When should I schedule HVAC tune-ups? add
AC in spring (April–May), furnace in fall (September–October). Tuning before peak demand catches small problems before they become emergency callouts at the worst time.
What does a 21-point tune-up include? add
Static pressure measurement, refrigerant charge check, temperature differential, thermostat calibration, electrical connection torque, capacitor test, contactor inspection, condensate drain flush, blower amp draw, filter inspection, evaporator coil visual, ignition cycle test, safety control verification, and more.
My system is brand new — do I still need a tune-up? add
Yes — most manufacturer warranties require annual professional service. A skipped tune-up year can void coverage on a $5,000+ furnace.
How long does a tune-up take? add
60–90 minutes for a single-system home. Multi-system homes 2 hours.
Section 05 · 4 Questions
Mold & Indoor Air Quality
Mold in ducts, sanitizing fog, IAQ improvements.
How does mold get into my air ducts? add
Two main paths: condensation on cold AC components during summer (the evaporator coil is the prime spot), and humid air entering crawlspace ductwork. Once spores establish, the HVAC distributes them throughout the home.
How do I know if my ducts have mold? add
Visible mold near supply registers, persistent musty smell when the HVAC runs, allergy or asthma flare-ups when the system is on, or dark spotting on the air handler interior.
What is the difference between cleaning, sanitizing, and remediation? add
Cleaning removes dust and debris physically. Sanitizing applies an EPA-registered antimicrobial fog to neutralize residual bacteria. Remediation is the structured response when active mold growth is confirmed — containment, HEPA vacuum, antimicrobial treatment, and source elimination (UV-C, humidity control).
Is the antimicrobial fog safe? add
Yes — products we use are EPA-registered for residential HVAC. Surfaces are safe for pets and children once dry, typically within 2 hours.
Section 06 · 6 Questions
Pricing & Process
Cost ranges, quote policy, what to expect on the day.
How much does air duct cleaning cost in Salt Lake City? add
Most single-family SLC homes price between $300 and $650, depending on number of supply vents, returns, and furnaces. Multi-system or larger homes run $700–$1,200. Every quote is written and flat-rate before work begins.
Why is your $59 competitor so much cheaper? add
They are not. The $59 ad gets the truck in the driveway; the actual invoice for a real cleaning lands at $400+ after upsells. Our flat $300+ price is for a complete service the first time, with no upsells.
Do you charge for an in-person estimate? add
No — quotes are free, written, and locked. We do not charge dispatch or estimate fees.
What payment methods do you accept? add
Card (Visa, MC, Amex, Discover), check, cash, and ACH for commercial accounts.
Do you offer financing? add
For projects over $1,500 we can offer 0% APR financing through GoodLeap or Synchrony, subject to credit approval.
What is your guarantee? add
100% satisfaction. If you can identify any portion of the scope that was not completed, we return at no charge until you are satisfied.
